Mohs Funeral Home was founded in 1903 by Frank M. Mohs Sr., who operated the firm until 1935. His son, Frank M. Mohs Jr., purchased the firm and continued the business until he died in 1958. His son, John W. Mohs, then became owner. In 1997, John sold Mohs Funeral Home to ECI. In June of 2002, John Luce Jr. bought the business from ECI. Due to John Luce's untimely death, Mohs Funeral Home was sold to long-time employee Jason Coester in 2006. Since Jason took over, he has renamed the firm Coester Funeral Home, a new name with an old-fashioned trust and a continued commitment to Webster and the surrounding area.
