Obituary

Wanda Wilson, 99, of Webster died Sun., July 15, at Bethesda Home, Webster.

Wanda Arlene Wilson was born October 13, 1918 to Albert and Lenna (Heichel) Moyle in Aberdeen, SD.  She grew up on a farm near Westport, SD.  She graduated from Stratford High School and attended one year at Northern Normal School with an associate teaching degree.

In 1940 Wanda married Vernon Wilson. They farmed near Wetonka, South Dakota until 1960 when they moved to Aberdeen where Wanda worked as a waitress at Dutch's Cafe. She later managed the Aberdeen Taco John's.

In 1983 she and Vernon moved to Sun Lakes, AZ.  In 2017 she moved to the Bethesda Home in Webster, SD where she resided until her death.

Wanda was a woman with tremendous energy and loved her jobs waitressing which she continued until the age of 84.  She loved her pet dog and cats and enjoyed country music and dancing.  Wanda was a great cook and was best known for her wonderful pies.

Wanda is survived by her five daughters, Sandra (Jim) Rood, Webster, SD; Judy (Roger) Nord, Savanna, GA; Sue Sorenson, Park Rapids, MN;  Verla (Rick) Herbert, Benson, AZ and Twilla (Kevin) Brock, Augusta, GA; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 60 years, a brother and son-in-law.

A memorial service is pending.
