Virgil Dornbusch, 78, of Webster, SD died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Bethesda Home, Webster.
Visitation will be from 6-7 with the prayer service will be at 7 Wednesday, Aug 10 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Webster.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Webster.
Virgil Eugene Dornbusch was born on July 27, 1933 in Milbank, SD to Roy & Josephine (Van Hout) Dornbusch. Virgil had 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Virgil grew up in Milbank. Following school Virgil enlisted in the US Air Force where he served for 4 years.
Following his discharge from the Air Force Virgil owned and operated the Surfwood. He then built the Blue Buffalo Café in 1966 in Aberdeen. After 18 years he sold the Blue Buffalo and purchased The Galley in Webster where he retired.
Virgil's greatest passion was sharing his love of the outdoors, hunting, and fishing with all his family and friends.
Virgil is survived by the love of his life and his best friend of 45 years, his wife Shirley, of Webster, SD, his daughters; Leisa (John) Aanenson of Luverne, MN, Susan Dornbusch (Pat Conley) Brookings, SD, his sons; Robert (Jolene) Dornbusch, Baltic, SD, Lyndon Dornbusch of Aberdeen, SD, Neal (Lucy) Dornbusch of Wichita, KS, 12 grandchildren, and one great grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Bud, Bob, & Tim, and 2 sons; Charles & David.
In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made in memory of Virgil to the American Cancer Society 4904 S. Technopolis Drive Sioux Falls, SD 57106 (Designate Day County).
