Verna Simon, 82, of Bristol, SD died Friday, March 29, 2013 at Sun Dial Manor, Bristol.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 Wednesday, April 3 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Webster. Burial will be in St. Otto's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 Tuesday with a Liturgical Wake Service at 7:30 at the church.

Verna Mary Simon was born on February 13, 1931 in Cresbard, SD to Charles and Edith Connell. She attended school in Cresbard.

She married Raymond Simon of Hoven, SD on June 5, 1951. They farmed many years in Andover, SD before moving to a farm in Webster in 1966. In 2003 they moved from the farm to the Pleasant View apartments in Webster.

Verna loved farm life, especially all the animal babies and a multitude of cats.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Ginny Higgins (husband Dave) of Aurora, CO and Kathy Ledwich (husband Rick) of Lanham, MD. and 1 son Arnie Simon (wife Shawna) of Webster; 8 grandchildren, David, Heather and Kevin Higgins, Chris Ledwich, Tanya and Michael Simon, Benji and Abby Simon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, 2 sons and 2 grandsons.
