Verna Mondry, 97, of Apple Valley, MN and formerly of Grenville, SD died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Augustana Healthcare Center, Apple Valley, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 Friday, June 22 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grenville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-11 Friday June 22 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grenville.

Verna was born on February 3, 1915 in Day County, SD to Anthony & Otilia (Bella) Lesnar. She attended country school in Nutley Township. Following school she stayed home to care for her younger siblings. She married Leo Mondry on October 24, 1934 in Grenville. They lived in Grenville for a short period of time before they moved to the family farm in the Grenville area.

Leo passed away in 1995 then Verna moved to Webster where she lived for 6 years. She than moved to Apple Valley, MN Nursing Home where she resided until her passing.

Verna was a member of St. Joseph's Altar Society.

Verna enjoyed making quilts, cooking, baking, gardening and playing cards.

Grateful for having shared her life is one daughter; Rosemary (Roger) Sattler of Apple Valley, MN, one son; Lavern Mondry of Mason City, IA, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, one daughter-in-law, one grandson.
