Obituary

Tom Lundborg, 58, of Webster died Sunday, July 19 at his lake home on Blue Dog Lake after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian burial will be 2:00 Thursday, July 23 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Webster. Burial will be at a later date in Milbank.

Visitation will be from 5-7 Wednesday at Coester Funeral Home, Webster with a prayer service at 7 at the funeral home.

Thomas Lee Lundborg, 58 of Webster, SD passed away July 19, 2015 at his lake home at Blue Dog Lake after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Tom was born on August 21, 1956 in Milbank, SD to Marlys (Molly) & Wilfred (Red). He was baptized and confirmed at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, where he then attended grade school and graduated from Milbank High School in 1975. Tom was actively involved in sports throughout high school. He continued his education at Mitchell Technical Institute with a powerline degree.

After graduation, Tom worked as a lineman for a short while with Besler Construction, followed by West River Electric until 1982. Currently Tom was employed by Lake Region Electric as a lineman and was later promoted to manager of operation.

Tom was loved by so many because of all the different activities he enjoyed throughout his life. Tom was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, socializing, playing cards, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family; especially his 5 grandchildren. He most recently enjoyed the short time he was able to spend at his new lake home. Tom was always known for his quick wit, sense of humor and contagious smile.

Left to cherish his memories: Mother, Molly (Fred) Sweeter, Milbank, SD, Wife, Paula Lundborg, Webster; Daughters, Heidi (Matt) Wellnitz, Milbank, SD, Heather (Nolan) Fischer, Humboldt, SD, and five grandchildren Tyler, John, Drake, Clete & Kate. Siblings: Duane Kockx (Kathy) Columbus, GA, Mary Sweeter, Sioux Falls, SD, Jeff Lundborg, Colorado Springs, CO, Gail Kelley, Gehring, NE, Penny (Ron) Mead, Milbank, SD, Julie (Greg) Bierschbach, Minot, ND, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tom was preceded in death by his father.
