Todd was born to Jerome and Darlene Hanson on July 25 th , 1967 in Webster, South Dakota.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, where he remained a member all the days of his life.

Upon graduation from Webster High School in 1985, Todd began a career at the SD Department of Transportation Maintenance Unit that spanned 35 years, not hanging up his hat until March 30, 2022.

When he was not working full time, Todd could be found working on the farm where he was raised, planting and harvesting crops, and caring for cattle with his dad and brother, Greg.

He found great joy traveling and camping West River in South Dakota with his friends, where they would hunt elk and mule deer; closer to home, he would be out in his deer stand or trapping foxes, mink, muskrats, and raccoons.

Todd was an avid collector of guns and cars, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Though quiet in demeanor, Todd's affection for his nieces and nephews was apparent when he would watch them open presents at Christmas, and especially when he would buy the expensive and impressive fireworks for Fourth of July celebrations.

In July of 2017, he met his significant other, Chantelle Swieczkowski, whose constant companionship and support during his diagnosis and treatment was of great comfort to Todd and his family throughout the past few years.

Todd was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jens and Agnes Hanson, and his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Emma Monson.

Left to remember his memory are his parents Joe and Darlene Hanson, significant other Chantelle Swiezkowski, sister Kari (Leigh) Johnson, brothers Greg Hanson, and Darin (Leah) Hanson, nieces Jessica (Ben) Karlen, Ashleigh (Jared) Pfaff, Kirsten (Allen) Nash, Lexy (Jesse) Carson, Kathryn and Kaylah Hanson, nephew Jacob Johnson, great-nieces Shaela Karlen, Leighton and Jonna Pfaff, and great-nephews Kenneth Nash, and Mick and baby boy Carson, Aunts, Uncles, many cousins & friends.
