Tamera Town, 61, of Washington, died Wednesday, August 24 at Providence St. Peter's Hospital, Olympia, WA.

Tamera was born on January 13, 1961 in Webster, SD to Truman & Doris (Helwig) Town.  She graduated from Waubay Public school in 1979.  She would then attend USD pursing a degree in Criminal Justice.

Tamera married Jim Rankin in Waubay. They moved to Washington where she worked for the State of Washington as a Correctional Officer.  Tamera worked for the State of Washington for several years until being injured and going on disability.

Tamera enjoyed taking care of dogs breeding, and selling them, she was a lover of pets, she liked going to the Casino, she also had a gift to gab she was a friend to everyone.  When Tamera entered a room she was the center of attention.  Tamera called her mother Doris everyday and even played & watched Wheel of Fortune on the phone.

Grateful for having shared her life is her mother; Doris of Watertown, two brothers; Terry (Sheryl) of Waubay & Jerry (Lynda) of Waubay.

Tamera was preceded in death by her Father and one sister.

Honorary Casket bearers will be Don & Terri Wolph & Perry & Julie Althoff.

Casketbearers will be Lonnie & Landen Nelson, Brett Jorgenson, Andy & Lance Harter, Tyler Giang.
