Shirley Spiering, 80, of Webster died Friday, November 24 at Sanford Hospital, Webster.

Shirley Annette Schmidt was born on May 11, 1943 in Bowdle, SD. She was the daughter of Fred C. & Hilda (Ronshaugen) Schmidt. Shirley graduated from Webster High School in 1961.

Shirley married Robert W. Spiering on December 11, 1961 in Hennepin County, Minneapolis, MN. They returned to the Webster area where they farmed together and raised 4 children. As a family they enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and time at the lake. Shirley sold Avon for many years and she worked at Dakotah. In 1998, Bob and Shirley moved to Webster, and she started to worked at the Webster School as a cook.

Shirley loved to cook, bake, rummage sales, reading, a good game of Shanghai, watching  science fiction movies, and decorate for every season, the more lights the better.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Facebook was a way for her to keep in touch with them all.

Grateful for having shared her life with her children: Laurene (Mike) Clark, Ramona, SD, Tim (Julie) Spiering, Webster, Bill Spiering, Watertown, Jaymy (Autumn) Spiering, Webster. Grandchildren: Kyle (Brandi) Clark, Katie (Matt) Jeratowski, Kurtis (Miranda) Clark, Jalayni (Justin) Zakrzewski, Garret (Ashley) Spiering, Sidney, Thomas, Josie Spiering, Hunter  Chrisafulli, Sara, Jaycob, & Jacksyn Spiering. Great Grandchildren: Jordyn, Easton, Brooklyn, Lennix, Michael, Marley, Taryn and Logan. She is also survived by her two dear friends; Shannon Baier & Pete Gonsor.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband & one still born daughter Laurie Ann.
