Ruth Zenk 69, of Vermillion and formerly of Webster died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 Friday, April 8, 2011 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Webster. Burial will be in St. Otto's Cemetery, Webster.
Visitation will be from 5-8 Thursday at Christ The King Catholic Church, Webster with a wake service at 7.
Ruth Ann was born February 25, 1942 to George and Frances (Wirkus) Zenk. She was a resident of Redfield State Hospital for a few years, then was moved to Southeast South Dakota Activity Center in Vermillion.
Ruth was a loving person who had a good sense of humor and enjoyed being around others. Ruth stayed active in the community by volunteering at the Serving Table setting tables. She enjoyed spending time with her family and all of her friends at SESDAC. Ruth had many hobbies and activities she enjoyed participating in during her free time such as putting together puzzles, reading magazines, coloring, and shopping. Ruth liked to take trips to McDonalds weekly to visit with friends while drinking coffee and people watching. Ruth's outgoing spunky personality brightened the lives of those around her.
She is survived by her mother Frances of Webster, SD, brothers George Jr. (Carol) of Devils Lake N.D., Dennis and Jim (Bette) of Webster, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father George, two nephews Eric and Jason Zenk, sister Eileen Gillies and an infant sister.
