Robert Hinderks, 83, of Blue Dog Lake, SD died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at his residence.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Webster. Burial will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Aberdeen.
Friends may sign the book from 6-8 Monday, Feb 21 at the church with a Wake Service at 7.
Robert "Bob" John Hinderks, 83, of Blue Dog Lake, SD died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at his home on Blue Dog Lake.

Bob was born October 13, 1927 to Frank & Mamie (Bartholome) Hinderks in Aberdeen, SD. He grew up and attended school in Columbia graduating from high school in 1945. Bob joined the Navy 2 months prior to his graduation and served in the Panama Canal Zone during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946. On returning from the service Bob attended Northern State Teachers College.
Bob and Joann (Arntz) were united in marriage June 13, 1949 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen. Bob worked for International Harvester in Aberdeen, SD, Linton, ND, and Webster, SD as a zone manager from 1948 ~ 1962. In 1962 Bob & Jo built the Holiday Motel in Webster they retired from the motel in 1990 and built a new home on Blue Dog Lake.
Bob was a 60-year member of the Herbert McKennett American Legion Post #40, Webster and a past member of the Izaak Walton League and Ducks Unlimited. Bob was the president of the Men's Golf Club and was active in getting the new clubhouse built.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting, golf, and especially visiting with people. He was a born storyteller with a keen memory for people's names and places.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 61 years Jo Blue Dog Lake, SD, one daughter; Barb (Maris) Birznieks Detroit Lakes, MN, two sons; Randy (Ginny) Hinderks Webster, SD, Doug (Diane) Hinderks Duluth, MN, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, two sisters; Fran (Boyd) Johnson Sturgis, SD, Jean (Ray) Siegle, Aberdeen, SD and foster brother; Duane Kindschi Pharr, TX.
His parents preceded him in death.
