Raymond F. Sass, 96, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, April 30, 2021.

Raymond was born March 22, 1925 to Paul and Annastasia (Gollnick) Sass in Webster, SD. He was the third oldest of four children. He attended St. Otto's School where he learned his Catholic faith and served as an Altar Boy.
As a Veteran of World War II, he served the Army in the Philippines and Japan. Returning home after the war, he married Pauline Gaikowski on September 20, 1949, began a farming career that spanned 65 years and raising a family of twelve children.
He continued his daily participation in his Catholic faith; was a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus; and an active supporter of the Alpha Center in Sioux Falls, St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen and Philippine orphanages.
He enjoyed aviation, was a private pilot, and travelled extensively throughout the United States including several trips to Europe visiting family and friends.
He is survived by his 12 children: Jim (Janet), Annandale, VA; Jerry (Ricky), Bigfork, MT; Ron (Judy), Florence, MT; Allan (Pat), Webster, SD; Russ (Darlene), Groton, SD; Gene (Rhonda), Milbank, SD; Dwayne, Webster, SD; Greg (Nancy), Rapid City, SD; Robert (Melinda), Rapid City, SD; Becky (Jack) Vander Poel, Jasper, MN; Barb (John) Bauman, Maple Plain, MN; and Mary (Jay) Aadland, Webster, SD; and 33 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
His wife, Pauline and two brothers (Lambert and Richard) and a sister (Dorothy) preceded him in death.
