Obituary

Romona B. Kampa, 80, of Milbank, SD died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Milbank Area Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 Saturday, March 29 at St. Williams Chapel, Milbank with Rev. Gary DeRouchey officiating.

Music will be provided by Daryl Halverson, organist and Miranda Cantine soloist.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Grenville at 1:30.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the St. Williams Chapel, Milbank.

Pallbearers include nephews James Kampa,Terry Kampa, Kevin Cantine, Gregory Cantine, Scott Cantine, and Alex Cantine.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Sisters (Daughters of St. Mary of Providence) and caregivers from St. Williams Home in Milbank.

Ramona was born September 18, 1933 at Webster to Alex and Clara (Henning) Kampa.   She was raised on a farm near Grenville and attended country school. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School, Grenville, and continued her education at Northern in Aberdeen. She later moved to St. Paul, MN where she was employed at the American National Bank for 15 years. In June, 1968, she suffered serious injuries from an accident forcing her to retire.

She spent several months at Ramsey Hospital in St. Paul before moving to Webster. Ramona entered St. Williams Home in Milbank in 1993.

Left to cherish her memory are two brothers; Eugene (Lillian) of Roslyn, Kenneth of Grenville; sisters: RoseMary (Lou) Kachivas of Lynwood, CA; and Loretta (Larry) Cantine of Milbank as well as three nieces and five nephews.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents.
