Marty Schlotte, 57, of Webster died Tues., Jan. 16 at Sanford Hospital, Webster.

Marty was born on October 11, 1960 in Webster, SD to Myron & Janet (Buckholtz) Schlotte.  He was baptized and confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Webster.  He attended Webster Public School graduating in 1979.  He then enrolled in Northern State College graduating with an Associates of Arts Degree in Business in 1981.

After college Marty returned to Webster where he worked for the Community Oil Company as a bookkeeper until 1993.  He was also employed by South Dakota Wheat Growers, Webster Police Department, and Community Oil of the Glacial Lakes-Roslyn.  He was most recently employed by Hahler Automotive, Webster.

He married Beth Gollnick on June 16, 1990 in Webster.  They had two children Lacey & Corey.  They made their home in Webster and lived there the whole time.

Marty enjoyed following his children's activities and was a loyal Webster Bearcat Fan; he was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, gardening & traveling to search for Antique treasures with family & friends.

Grateful for having shared his life is his parents; Myron & Janet of Webster, his wife; Beth of Webster, two children; Lacey (Jared) Moser of Morris, MN, Corey of Sioux Falls, two brothers; Dari (Jodi) Schlotte of Webster, & Lonnie (Lisa Hall) of Watertown, several nieces, nephews, cousins and Aunts and Uncles, and his forever best friend Leigh Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents William & Esther Buckholtz and Henry & Gladys Schlotte.

Coester Funeral Home, Webster has been entrusted with the arrangments.
