Obituary

Margaret Wattier, 82, of Bristol died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 at Sun Dial Manor, Bristol.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 Friday, August 8, 2014 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Bristol. Burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 Thursday, August 7 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Bristol with a Wake Service at 7:00. Visitation will resume again one hour prior to the services at the church.

Margaret Elaine Skaare was born August 20, 1931 to John and Bertha (Langeland) Skaare on her grandparent's farm near Bristol. She graduated from Bristol High School in 1949.

Margaret married Erwin "Puzz" Wattier at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bristol on October 3, 1950. They made their home on their farm in the hills near Crandall until moving to Bristol in 1993

Margaret was active with the St Anthony's Altar Society, Bristol Development Corp. and the Bristol Quilters. Margaret loved to sew and was known for her beautiful quilts.

Nobody ever left the Wattier Farm hungry. Margaret was known for feeding hungry farmers, hired hands, and kids. Her caramel rolls and cowboy cookies were legendary and will be missed by all who ever had the privilege to enjoy them. Her grandchildren especially loved her dill pickles and would sneak jars of pickles home with them when they left.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Erwin Wattier, daughters Kathy (Denny) Adams of Conde, Sandy (Eddie) Cadiena of Elgin, Illinois, Pat (Dave) Olson, Bristol, Gayle (Al) Parelli, of Plano, Texas, Shari (Craig) Radebaugh, of Hugo, MN, and son Rick(Sue) Wattier, of Conde, and 19 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Margaret also leaves behind her sisters Eunice (Ronald) Hanson of Rapid City, Leona Wattier of Langford, Noel (Kenneth) Anderson of Webster and sister-in-law Jeanne Skaare of Bristol. Many nieces and nephews from both the Skaare and Wattier families are also left behind, as well as many special friends in the Bristol area.

Margaret was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Diane Kordis, one brother, John Leo Skaare, one sister, Carol Johnson and her parents, John and Bertha Skaare.
