Margaret Block of Waubay, SD died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008 in Burnsville, MN. at the age of 85 years, 8 months, 25 days.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm Saturday, Dec. 13 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Webster. Burial in St. Otto's Cemetery

Visitation will be from 1-4 Friday at Coester Funeral Home and resume from 6-8 with a prayer service at 7 at the church.

Margaret Block was born on March 13, 1923 in Webster, SD to Hilary & Mary (Sass) Czmowski. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Otto's Catholic church. She attended school in the Butler and Webster areas and graduated from Mount Marty High School.

On November 24, 1941, she married Alvin A. Block at St. Otto's Catholic Church, Webster, SD. They engaged in farming in the Webster area until moving to Enemy Swim Lake in 1959, where they farmed and operated North Shore Resort. After Alvin passed away in 2002, Margaret moved to Minnesota.

Margaret enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, playing cards, fishing, visiting with friends, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared her life are three daughters; Linda (Ray) Mitchell, Burnsville, MN, Karen Henning, Duluth, GA, Bonnie (Les) Kanada, Wyoming, MN six sons; Allan, Gary (Marsha), & Dennis Block of Waubay, SD, Richard (Renelle) Block, Coon Rapids, MN, Gregory & Michael Block, Webster, SD, 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Alvin of 61 years, one son Robert, and her brothers, Herman & Leo Czmowski.

Casketbearers will be her granddaughters: Karri Henning, Amy Kanada, Erin Betten, Marissa Mitchell, Lisa ReMine, Sara Kanada, Robin Dean, Stacy Block, & Marga Block.

Honorary Casketbearers will be all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, & relatives.
