Lucy Kerl, 83, of Pickerel Lake, SD formerly Aberdeen, SD died Sun. Apr. 1, 2012 at the Dougherty House, Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Thurs., Apr. 5, 2012 at Coester Funeral Home, Webster. There will be no commital service.
Visitation will be from 5-8 Wed. Apr. 4, 2012 at Coester Funeral Home, Webster with a 7 PM prayer service.
Lucille was born on December 14, 1928 in Britton, SD to Dean & Matie (Gibbs) Honey. She attended school in Groton and graduated from Groton High School in 1946. She then met Harlow and they were married on July 9, 1950 in Groton, SD together they moved to Chicago so Harlow could attend school and Lucy worked for the Dow Chemical Company as a stenographer. When Harlow finished school they moved back to South Dakota. They lived in Aberdeen until Harlow retired and they moved to their home on Pickerel Lake in 1996.
Lucy was a member of the Eastern Star she enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends, she also enjoyed playing games and was a good cook.
She is survived by her husband Harlow of Pickerel Lake, SD, two sons; Jamie (Jane) Kerl of Lincoln, NE, Brian (Sandy) Kerl of Bonner Springs, KS, one daughter; Brenda (Jess) Goodwin of Pocatello, ID, 7 grandchildren, one great grandchild.
Her parents, one son Kevin Kerl, one grandson Andrew Goodwin, and one sister preceded her in death.
