Obituary

Lola K. Wattier, 92, of Clark formerly Conde, SD died Friday, June 29, 2012 at Golden Living Center, Clark.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 Tuesday, July 3 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Bristol. Burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery.

Close casket visitation will be from 6-8 Monday, July 2 at Coester Funeral Home, Webster.

Lola Katherine Jensen was born to Victor and Stella (Steele) Jensen on May 18, 1920 at the family farm. She completed eight grades in school.

Lola was united in Holy Matrimony to Frederick Clovis Wattier on September 23, 1939 at St. Anthony's parsonage in Bristol, SD. They farmed near Crandall, SD. Fred passed away on April 27,1983 and Lola later moved to Watertown, SD, lived 3 years in Montevideo, MN and moved to Golden Living Center in Clark, SD in June, 2005. Lola was crowned Homecoming Queen representing Beverly Healthcare in September, 2006.

Lola helped farm and cooked many meals and lunches for family and hired men, gardened and canned, enjoyed doing daily crossword puzzles, counted cross stitch, sewing, watching baseball and Tiger Woods, playing cards and whist, and especially that last game of cribbage at night to see if she or Fred had to milk the cow. She held various jobs with the Green Thumb program in Watertown, bowled, roller skated, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Conde, SD.

She leaves to mourn, her six children: Linda Busch, Montevideo, MN; Myrna ( and Robert) Fast, Yale, SD; Lowell (Butch) and (Linda) Wattier, Spearfish, SD; Gloria Horter, Montevideo, MN and fiance, George Boos of Milbank, SD; Mark Wattier, Conde, SD; and Marie (and Charles) Flemming, Volin, SD. She had 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Lola was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Cecil, Edward and Howard Jensen, and Della Shepersky, and grandson James Flemming.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Golden Living Center of Clark, SD.
