Joseph John Miotke Jr., 83, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Strand - Kjorsvig Nursing Home in Roslyn.
Graveside services will be 2:30 Fri., Nov. 27 in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Grenville. Livestream video via Coester Funeral Home Facebook page will air at 2:30.
Public walk through visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grenville.
Masks are strongly encouraged and please social distance.
Joe was born to Joe and Mary (Gruba) Miotke on April 12, 1937. He lived and worked on the family dairy farm located on Pickerel Lake, South Dakota. He owned his own carpentry business and built many homes around the area. Joe also worked as a bartender at the local steakhouse.
He married Marilyn Lewandowski and had three children Stephanie, Scott, and Jamie. He retired from dairy farming in 2005. He spent his free time going to a local gas station talking with the staff and customers while having his coffee. Joe also loved spending time with his family and friends whether it was talking about the old days or teaching the grandkids how to milk cows.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Joe and Mary (Gruba) Miotke, his sisters Maryann Nilson and Caroline (Joe) Rumpza and his niece Linda Rumpza
He is survived by his brother Danny (Lois) Miotke of St. Paul, MN, brother-in-law Clinton Nilson of Webster, SD, daughter Stephanie (Jason) Heim of Watertown, SD , sons Scott Miotke of Grenville, SD, and Jamie (Shauna) Miotke of Webster, SD, grandchildren Tayler Ringler (Anna), Domanic Heim (Kenzie), Owen Heim, Gage Miotke, Bentley Miotke and many nieces and nephews.
However you may have known him whether he was a brother, uncle, dad, grandpa, friend he will be forever missed.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Coester Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Webster.
