Joseph Block, 49, of Desert Hot Springs, CA died Thurs. July 9 in Desert Hot Springs, CA.

Joseph Lawrence Block was the son of Lavern Block & Margaret Reid.  He was an international school teacher for 17 years teaching in China, Vietnam, Thailand, many parts of Philippines.  He wrote books for teaching the English language to young students.  Henan University in China was his last job.  He left China in December 2019.

He was married to Schila Block, Philippines who is unable to attend due to COVID-19.

Grateful for having shared his life is his wife; daughter, Angelica Block, Watertown; siblings, Terry (Wanda) Block, Robert (April) Block, & Robin (Joe) Bucholz.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, & uncles.

Arrangements have been entrusted with Coester Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Webster.
