Joan B. Coester, 71, of Olathe, KS and formerly of Aberdeen, SD died Thurs., Mar. 29 at Villa of St. Francis Rest Home, Olathe, KS.

Visitation will be from 5-8 Thurs, March 5, at Coester Funeral Home, Webster.

Private family graveside services will be 11 AM Friday, April 6, 2012 at Riverside Cemetery, Aberdeen.

Joan was born on January 24, 1941 in St. Paul, MN to Walter and Francis (Braier) Coester. Joan attended school in Aberdeen. She worked at her mother's fabric store, Fran's Fabric Center, as a sales clerk, then at the Aberdeen Adjustment Center and Scotty's Drive-In until the death of her mother in 1994. Then she moved to Lebanon, MO to live with her twin sister Joyce Meyer. She and Joyce then moved to the Kansas City, KS area until her death.

Joan enjoyed spending the summers at Enemy Swim Lake while living in South Dakota. She particularly enjoyed her nieces and nephews and their children.

Grateful for having shared her life is one brother; William (Judy) Coester, Milbank, SD and her twin sister; Joyce (John) Meyer of Olathe, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In Lieu of flowers the family asks memorials be directed to NE-SO-DAK Bible Camp in memory of Joanie and may be mailed to Coester Funeral Home PO BOX 603 Webster, SD 57274.
