Ione Elizabeth Lambertz was born March 30, 1933, to William and Dorothy (Wingert) Lambertz on a farm near Canistota. She attended country schools near their farm until 8 th grade, and then she roomed in Parker to complete her high school education. She worked at a local café during that time.
She married Edward B. Weber on November 22, 1955, in Salem where they resided until 1960. They then moved to Pierpont, where Ed managed the Farmers Union (Cenex) until his retirement. At that time, they moved and became caretakers of a farm northeast of Roslyn and eventually purchased their own little homestead on the west edge of Roslyn. Ed passed away on December 2, 2009. Ione continued to reside on the farm until October of 2017, when she moved to an apartment in Webster where she lived until her death.
Ione loved her family, her dog Sophie, The Minnesota Twins and the Timberwolves, quilting for several local churches, casinos, Pickeral Lake, fishing, putting together puzzles on Jigidi, the Game Show Network and playing cards.
Ione is survived by her children: Rene Axness, Aberdeen; Brad (Brenda), Salem; Paul (Teresa), Alpena; Mark, Salem; and Curtis, Aberdeen; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one brother, Lawrence.
Ione is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother, Lionel.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Coester Funeral Home, Webster.St. Joseph's Catholic Church
