Hobert Bailey, 85, of Bristol, formerly of Princeton, WV died Mon., May 27 at Sun Dial Manor, Bristol.

Hobert Lee Bailey was born on January 9, 1939 in Princeton, WV.  He was the son of Ezra L and Ida (Hubbard) Bailey.

Hobert married the love of his life, Bertha, in 1992.  Together they lived happily in Princeton where he worked for 33 years for the West Virginia Highway Department until retiring.  In 2016 when they moved to South Dakota to be closer to family.

He was a member of Old State Road, Freewill Baptist Church in WV until moving to Webster where he attended First Baptist Church.  He loved a good church potluck, an avid NASCAR fan never missing a race.   He and Bertha, while living in Princeton, we're always at the local racetrack on the weekends.

Grateful for having shared his life is his loving wife of 32 years, Bertha, of Bristol two stepdaughters; Lea Wimmer of Groton and Vanessa (Russ) Bethke of Bristol, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Ezra and Ida and two step sons; Ray Wimmer and Phillip Wimmer.
