Gerald Schmig, 79, of Webster, SD died Monday, May 27, 2019 at Bethesda Home, Webster.

Gerald was born on May 15, 1940 to Floyd and Elsie (Reiprich) Schmig at Peabody Memorial Hospital in Webster.  Jerry was baptized at his grandpa & grandma Reiprich home and was confirmed in the American Lutheran Church on December 5, 1954. Jerry attended rural school in Rusk Township and graduated from Webster Public School in 1958.  Following school Jerry farmed with his dad until they retired in 1990.  Jerry also was a DeKalb Seed Dealer for several years. Jerry moved off the farm and into Webster in October of 1996.

Jerry was very active through out his life he was on the American Lutheran Church Board, Rusk Township Clerk, Lake Area Hospital Foundation Board, Sun Dial Manor Board, Sun Dial Manor Foundation Board, and a Deligate for Bethesda Home.

Jerry enjoyed playing cards, listening to Elvis, going to Deano's Steakhouse in his "Van" and visiting with his many friends and family.

Grateful for having shared his life is his Cousins, Aunts & Uncles

He was preceded in death by his parents.
