Florence France's Harms, 90, of Bristol died Friday, Dec., 11 at Sanford Hospital, Webster.
Florence was born on November 9, 1925 in rural Crandall, SD to Rudolf & Ora (Wattier) Kaiser. She attended rural country school in the Crandall area. She then attended school in Crocker. Following school she worked on the family farm. She then went to work for her grandparents, Alphonse and Nellie Wattier.
April 27, 1946 she married Lorane William Harms in Florence, SD. They lived NW of Crocker for a short time until moving to the Butler area and in 1964 they moved into Butler. Florence worked at Head Start in the kitchen and at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. She also worked at Dakotah Inc. in Webster, for various families doing housekeeping in the area, and as a housewife for many years.
Florence enjoyed gardening, fishing, raising chickens, cooking, canning, sewing, playing piano, playing cards, reading, praying the Rosary, and spending time with her family. In 2008, Florence entered Sun Dial Manor in Bristol, SD.
Florence was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, St. Anthony's Altar Society, Saint Gean-Marie-Baptiste-Vianney Catholic Church in Round Prairie, MN,
Grateful for having shared her life is 4 sons; William of Butler, SD, Michael of Bristol, SD, Paul (Karla) of Parker, SD, Jeffrey of Aberdeen, SD, 4 daughters; Judith (Ellsworth) Anderson of Kimball, MN, Patricia (Adolf) Walz of Aberdeen, SD, Mary Keats of Belle Fourche, SD, Susan Saylor of Yankton, SD, 12 grandchildren, one step grandson, 5 great grandchildren, , one step great granddaughter, and one sister; Catherine (Herbert) Dohman of Sioux Falls, SD, one sister in law Lois Stern of Bristol, SD, and brother in law Don & Roseanne Harms of Redfield, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lorane, one brother Joseph, one sister Lillian, one daughter-in-law, Brenda (King) Harms, and one son-in-law Richard Keats.
