Eugene "Gene" Kampa, 91, of Roslyn died Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Bethesda Home, Webster.

Memorial Services will be held in the Spring of 2022 in Grenville.

Eugene was born on March 11, 1930 to Alex and Clara (Henning) Kampa in Webster, SD.  He attended school in Grenville Township through the 8 ^th grade.  Following school, he farmed with his family in the Grenville area.  In 1953, he was drafted in the US Army where he was a mechanic in Germany.  Eugene received an Honorable Discharge with the rank of Corporal in 1955.

On October 21, 1957 Eugene married Lillian Snaza in Grenville.  They farmed with his family until 1969 when they purchased their own farm near Roslyn.  They continued to farm until 2017 when they retired.  In August of 2021 they moved to Webster.

Eugene was a member of Henning Shemanski American Legion Post #267 and he was a life member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Eugene and Lillian enjoyed traveling with their children during the down times of farming and saw all 50 states.  They travelled themselves through 12 European Countries celebrating anniversaries in far away places.

Grateful for having shared his life is his wife of 63 years Lillian of Webster, one daughter, Eydie Adams of Doylestown, PA; two sons, Perry Kampa of Phoenix, AZ and James (Renae) Kampa of Black Hawk, SD; 2 grandchildren, Rachael Kampa of Rapid City, SD and Terrance (Ericka) Kampa of Aberdeen, SD;  one sister, Loretta Cantine of Milbank, SD and one brother, Kenny Kampa of Grenville, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Arrangements have been entrusted with Coester Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Webster.
