Dennis William (Billy) Gollnick, 60, of Webster, SD died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at VA Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Webster. Burial will be in St. Otto's Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by Herbert-McKennett American Legion Post #40.
Visitation will be from 5-7 Wednesday at Christ The King Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7.
Dennis (Billy) was born March 9th 1950 to Norbert William and Faye (Malloy) Gollnick. He attended St. Otto's grade school and graduated from Webster High School.
In 1968 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Meridian, Miss. In 1971 he moved to Minneapolis, MN where he was in partnership at a second hand store. In 1982 Dennis moved to Spearfish, SD where he was a primary care provider for his grandfather Pat Malloy. In 1983 he returned to Webster to work and also learn horticulture and gardening along side his father. Dennis operated a vegetable stand on the South end of Webster, where he provided fresh produce to stores and cafes throughout Northeast South Dakota.
Billy enjoyed fishing, hunting especially West River, and his dog Katie.
Grateful for having shared his life are his mother Faye of Webster, SD, 2 brothers; Bob (Bev) Gollnick of Rapid City, SD, Gary (Gloria) Gollnick of Bradley, SD, 4 sisters; Kathy (Randy) Schneider & Rebecca Brunswick of Sioux falls, SD, Shannon Baier of Webster, SD, and Gail (Gary) Wolters of Lisbon, ND 18 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father Norbert 1994 and one sister Rita Jaspers 1989.
