Daniel Wirtz, 82 of Webster died Sunday, August 14 at Sun Dial Manor, Bristol.
Daniel Paul Wirtz was born on May 29, 1934 in Watertown, SD to Paul and Ruth (Williamson) Wirtz. He graduated from Watertown High School. Following school he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving state side during the Korean War. He then continued his education at Brown Institute in Minneapolis graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He continued to serve his country in the U.S. Air Guard for 25 years retiring as a Master Sergeant.
Daniel married Kathleen Turbak on October 15, 1955 in Kranzburg, SD. They lived in Watertown where Dan worked for Smith & Sheen as a Draftsman. In 1972 they moved to Webster where Dan worked for Lake Region Electric retiring as the Line Superintendent in 1995.
Daniel was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Herbert McKennett American Legion Post #40, Crusin Classics Car Club, volunteer for the R.S.V.P., and also the Museum of Wildlife Science and Industry.
Daniel enjoyed bowling over 30 years on the same team, NASCAR, Twins baseball, Vikings football and he was a Ham Radio operator. The most important thing in his life was his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a most kind and loving father, a man of great faith. We will so miss that twinkle in his eye and his sweet tender hugs. His gentle spirit will live on in each of us and he will be forever missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one infant daughter, one sister.
