Craig Hammitt, 65, died Tuesday, May 27 at his residence in Webster.

Per his request there will be no services.

Craig was born February 13, 1960 in Sioux Falls, SD. In 1968, he moved to Webster SD with his family. Craig graduated from Webster High School in 1978. He then traveled to Colorado and Arizona for a couple years before returning to Webster to deliver propane and cement to all of Northeast South Dakota.

In his early years Craig was an avid water skier, mastering slalom, barefoot and trick ski.

Hunting and fishing have always been a part of his life. For many years he traveled doing competition trapshooting and earned silver platters for his skill.

In his later years Craig developed a love for reading, which was passed down from his father.

He loved watching all sports, but mostly the Twins and the Vikings! Craig never met a stranger as he always started up a conversation. He had many special friends whom he helped over the years and who, in turn, helped him. He especially had a soft spot in his heart for his niece Bobi and his nephew Josh.

Craig was preceded in death by his mother Lori and his father Ron. He is survived by his sister Julie and brother-in-law Bob Hilgemann of Aberdeen, SD. Niece Bobi Hilgemann (Luke Carroll) of Waukee, IA. Nephew Josh Hilgemann of Aberdeen, SD. Aunt Connie Zimmerman of Mesa,

AZ and four cousins.
