Clarence Dedrickson, 89, Lifelong resident of Webster died Tues., Jan. 17 at his residence.
Clarence was born on April, 9, 1927 on the family farm near Bristol, SD. He was baptized at Bergen Church and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church. He attended country school as a child and graduated from Webster High School.
He was drafted into the Army in July of 1945 and was stationed in Texas until his honorable discharge in December of 1946.
Clarence was a farmer his entire life and was always willing to help his neighbors and fellow farmers, including Ole and Ernest Fosheim and Leigh Johnson. Clarence was quite fond of his farm equipment, particularly his tractors, and his livestock.
Clarence was a regular customer at Pereboom's Cafe where he enjoyed having coffee and visiting with friends. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and St. John's Lutheran Church where he served as an usher for many years.
He enjoyed following the local sports teams and was a big fan of the Minnesota Twins.
Clarence made a memorable trip to Norway to visit relatives with his nephew, Dick, and Marshall & Evelyn Likness. He was a "true" Norwegian and never missed a lutefisk supper in the area. He thoroughly enjoyed eating all the Norwegian foods.
Grateful for having shared his life is one brother; Jim (Judy) Dedrickson Sioux Falls, SD and one sister-in-law; Jan Dedrickson of Aberdeen, SD, several nieces & nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Laura (Mork) Dedrickson; his brothers, Tom Dedrickson and Robert Dedrickson; sister & brother in law, Idella (Flavian) Tracy and sister-in-law, Darlis (Vevang) Dedrickson.
