Obituary

Claire Bierschbach, 91, of Webster, SD died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 at Strand-Kjorsvig Home, Roslyn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Sat., Oct. 11, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Webster. Burial will be in St. Otto's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 Fri., Oct. 10 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Webster with a wake service at 7.

Claire was born in Morton township, Day County to William and Leanore (Karrigan) Bierschbach on September 22, 1923. He attended parochial and rural grade schools. He graduated from Webster High School in 1941. He attended SDSU, Brookings and began farming in 1942. He married Mary Keehn on October 2, 1954 in Webster and they lived in Morton township until retirement in 1994 when they moved into Webster.

Claire was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Farmers Union, a former soil Conservation Supervisor and former township clerk. He did volunteer for the Museum of Wildlife Science and Industry for many years as a member of RSVP.

Grateful for having shared his life is his wife; Mary of Webster, SD, three sons; Robert (Rhonda) of Thompson, CT., David (Tami) of East Wenatchee, WA., Alan (Lori) of Madison, SD, and one daughter; Janet (Mike) Mielke of Aberdeen, SD, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and one brother; Maurice (Pat) of Webster, SD.

His parents and two brothers, Dennis and Jerald preceded him in death.
