Brian Butler, 28, of Waubay, SD died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 from injuries sustained in an auto accident south of Waubay.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Waubay. Burial will be in Waubay Catholic Cemetery, Waubay.

Visitation will be from 5-7 Wednesday Dec. 5 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Waubay with an 7:00 Wake Service at the church.

Brian Joel Butler was born on May 9, 1984 in Watertown, SD to Joe and Marsia (Zirbel) Butler. He attended Waubay Public School graduating in 2002. He attended SDSU in Brookings graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy in 2006 and in 2010 he graduated with his Master's Degree also from SDSU.

Brian started Butler Consulting Inc. in 2006 and continued to work along side mentor Bob Narem. Brian also loved to work on the family farm. He loved operating machinery and caring for his cattle, even until the wee hours of the night

On May 20, 2010 Brian's pride and joy, Avery Joel was born. Brian's love for Avery was evident in his conversations the way his face lit up when he talked about him. Avery is truly a "chip off the old block," Sharing Brian's gift to gab along with a passion for the farm life.

Brian was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Waubay and the Waubay Fire Department.

Brian loved playing Fantasy Football with his buddies, watching the Jackrabbits play, and loved spending time with his godson Justin, and with his nephews.

Grateful for having shared his life is his son, Avery Joel Butler Brookings, SD, his parents, Joe & Marsia Butler, Waubay, SD, Maternal Grandparents, Dale & Esther Zirbel of Ortley, SD, Paternal Grandparents, Reuben & Helen Butler, Waubay, SD, two brothers, Derrick (Cindy) Butler, Waubay, SD, Andrew (Michelle) Butler, Waubay, SD, and two sisters, Traci Butler, Leola, SD, and Justine Butler, Brookings, SD. Brian also leaves behind three nephews Witten, Connor and Aiden Butler of Waubay, SD.

Brian was preceded in death by uncles Steven Butler, Mark Butler, and his paternal and maternal great-grandparents.

Casketbearers will be Drew Riter, Derek Sinner, Stuart Pearson, Randy Gronke, Matt Rohlik, and Jevon Zirbel.

Honorary Casketbearers will be his godson Justin Zirbel and his fantasy football buddies.

Soloist will be Kylie Price.
