Arthur J. Graczyk, 84, of Roslyn, SD died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Strand-Kjorsvig Home, Roslyn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 Saturday, June 5, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grenville. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Military Graveside Rites Conducted by Henning Shemanski American Legion Post #267.

Arthur J. Grajczyk was born on December 23, 1925 in Grenville, SD to Anton and Veronica (Gonsor) Grajczyk. He was raised in Grenville and later graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minnesota. He served his country in the U.S. Army where he received a Purple Heart. He married Arlene Fitzl and they moved to California in 1965 where they raised their family. Arthur lived in California until 2007, when he moved back to Roslyn where he lived at Strand-Kjorsvig Home, Roslyn.

Known by many as "Artie", he had a strong faith and love for Christ which you could see in his everyday life. His compassionate and giving heart wasn't just for family and friends, but also for people with any kind of need from homeless-that needed shelter, to caring for a neighbor with AIDS- when no one else would. He was kind, giving, loving and gentle man.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his children; Mona Gettmann, Michelle Baca, Bruce Grajczyk, and Moira Randal; 10 grandchildren one brother; Lenard Grajczyk; three sisters; Evelyn Grajczyk, Alice Likeness, and Elaine Moriarty and many nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends……he was much loved and will be missed.
