Anthony Snaza, 85 of Grenville died Wednesday, August 17 at Strand-Kjorsvig Home, Roslyn.

Anthony Peter Snaza was born on May 29, 1931 to Edwin and Anna (Miller) Snaza. He attended country school where he graduated. Following school he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving state side during the Korean War. He then came home to begin farming.

He married Bernice Kurkowski on June 6th 1956 at St. Joseph in Grenville, SD. They lived on their farm near Grenville for 58 years where they raised 4 children. Tony farmed with 2 of his sons until their youngest son Dennis went to be with our Lord, he continued to farm with his eldest son Wayne. His love of his life Bernice left him to go be with Dennis and our Lord and he was unable to be on his own and entered into the Strand-Kjorsvig nursing facility where he lived till he went to be with the love of his life Bernice.

Anthony was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Post #267 for 60 years, REA Hybrid dealer for 43 years, Eden Farmers Elevator board member, and a Grenville Township Supervisor.

Anthony enjoyed farming above all but also enjoyed old time music and going to dances, playing cards, and above all visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always had a piece of candy for them and loved their hugs. We will miss his sense of humor and his wonderful love of life he had a beautiful smile.

Grateful for having shared his life is his sons; Wayne (Jackie) of Webster, SD, Ron (Darlou) of Aberdeen, SD, daughter; Ann Marie (Mike) Perell of Rush City, MN, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bernice, one son and one grandson.
