Anna Marie Lesnar, Milbank, and formerly of Waubay,on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at St. Williams Home in Milbank.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Monday, February 20th at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Waubay.

There will be visitation at Coester Funeral Home in Webster on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00pm, with a wake service at 7:00pm at Immaculate Conception Church in Waubay. Burial will be in the Waubay Catholic Cemetery.

Anna was born July 13, 1924 in Watertwn, SD to Albert and Hilda (Kjenass) Hoverstadt. She grew up and attended school in Florence. She met the love of her life, Emil Lesnar, at a dance, and they danced the rest of their life together. They were married June 9, 1947 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Florence. Anna worked at Waubay Public School and Bethesda Nursing Home while she and Emil raised 9 children. Emil died in 1992.

Anna spent several years in Aberdeen, then moved to Webster, settling at Pleasantview Apartments in 2007. She has been in the loving and compassionate care of St. Williams Home in Milbank since April, 2011.

Anna was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a flag carrier in area parades for years. She was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Altar Society.

Anna enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading and playing cards. But the real joy in both Emil and Anna's life was their family. Their grandchildren always brightened their day.

She is survived by 8 children, Greg (Pam) Lesnar, Bellevue, Wa; Sharon (Jim) Hermans, Milbank; Janice Hoff, Aberdeen; Karen (Jeff) Garrett, Wendell, NC; Elaine (Dave) Koslowski, Grenville; Dennis (Connie) Lesnar, Milbank; Kim (Dan) Waddle, Webster; Doug (Linda Owen), Webster; son-in-law Rich Solberg, Webster; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; daughter, Emily Solberg; son-in-law, Ernie Hoff; granddaughter, Angela Koslowski; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
